I am new here, (posted a sad vent yesterday) and will be on every now and then, but wanted to give an update and get some recommendations if possible?

Dad is settling just great. Got him some proper nourishment finally according to his kidney and gout needs for the last 3 days. Thank goodness for Beauty School in the 80's, a digression into the health care field CNA in the late 80's and early 90's, and then another path taken into the culinary/nutrition field/school.

Already, Dad is perky! His voice is stronger and got his vitamin regiment restarted, and he is now finally rehydrated. Husband has learned some pretty savvy lift moves from me from my past work experience. We both help him dress and he has had his full shower this morning. Nurse is expected this afternoon.

His cat is also doing great and adjusting to our dog and other cat. That's probably due to the fact that my father is here with her. Lift chair gets installed tomorrow. Great company that his NP recommended!

Thank you all for the private messages, my sister is always welcome at our home to see Dad. He has no clue that his two daughters were upset with each other. I have no hatred towards her. I'd like to believe she meant well. We're just two different people with two different life styles/belief systems/ and we have very different outlooks on what forgiveness is. That said, I love her and I always will. Yes, I'm angry with her, very much. However, family dynamics are a tricky biz as I'm sure everyone here knows. I just don't want to gather and rally against her in private messaging. It does no good.

So - onward!

Question; we’re going to be installing a motion detecting cam in his room to be turn on at night. I've read some of the ones out there but would like your feedback on which ones are best if anyone would know?

Thank you again!

Find Care & Housing
When my late husband was completely bedridden in a hospital bed in our living room, I purchased some Blink cameras to keep an eye on him when I had to be out and about and also to be able to check on him overnight without me having to get out of bed.
They worked great and they now have the 2-way talk ones, which is very helpful as I have the older ones where I could hear my husband but he couldn't hear me.
And they're very moderately priced too.
Hope things continue to go well with caring for your dad. Just make sure that you're taking care of yourself as well.

So happy to hear that your dad is settling in well.

Cameras are a great idea. I’m all for anything that is helpful.

People will chime in with feedback on cameras.

Wishing you all the best!

Hi, HardTruth:
It will really help if you put a few words in the title of your question or at the top of the question itself, as I fear its being the last sentence of your paragraph will have some missing it.
You question regarding motion sensors is a good one and we have a whole wealth of responses about types, volumes, places to buy--but it's on various threads buried within AC itself.

My best advice is to go to the top timeline of AgingCare, find the magnifying "search" glass, and type in "Motion Sensors". You will see that questions pop up regarding them from as far back as 2016 and as recent as very recently. Hopefully you will get some options or advice within these questions. I myself am not familiar with them or their use, so can only wish you good luck, but CAN tell you that if you find one you like, posting it here as "Motion Senor that WORKS" will be great advice for others coming along.

Glad things are so far going better and sure do wish you great good luck.
