Find Care & Housing
Relucas, sadly this happens quite a bit. A grown child gives up work, uses up their own savings, and now have debts to pay. One way to get paid, as cmagnum had mentioned above, is for your Mom to pay you a salary. You would need to file payroll taxes so you can build up your Social Security and Medicare accounts.

Another option is to contact Medicaid [which is different from Medicare] to see if your Mom could qualify. Not every State offers a salary to a person who is caring for a love one, and if they do, the pay would be very minimal.

I hope you have medical insurance for yourself.

Does she have the money to pay you? Is she competent to sign a business contract between the two of you? Who else is available to take care of her? What are her care needs beyond mobility?

We really need more information to be able to answer your question.
