Don’t do it . My husband was in facility and I took him out during the lockdown . Harder but better at home . These places are understaffed . I would hit the call bell and 17 + minutes later I’d walk out of the room looking fir a nurse or CNA. His particular place Consulate Health has more people working there from agencies than their own staff . He is aspirate earnings. Meaning no thin liquids and 1 on 1 assist with food tray . There’s times I went in and he’d be in a wheelchair with a tray and no one there with him . Another time at 2 am I cane out of the bathroom and a LPN was handing him water and 2 Tylenol that we asked fir around midnight . I asked what are you doing don’t you see the feeding tube machine he can’t swallow. The LPN replied oh I’d figures it out eventually . My husband wears a Optune device on his head so I was allowed to stay with him because of the device , changing the head gear etc. Taking him home he gets Ot, PT and speech therapist twice a week . It may be only 20 minutes- 30 minutes each time but it’s something. It’s hard but at home he’s clean , he’s comfortable and other than therapists no one coming in or out .. is ultimately up to you but after what I seen. I wouldn’t do it

KEEP HER OUT OF MEMORY CARE FACILITY OR NURSING HOME.
Your siblings should understand. This is not an isolated case. ALL of the world is dealing with this. For almost every person in NH there is at least one person missing them terribly.
Sending your LO into a facility now would probably feel to them like solitary confinement. Please wait until she can transition safely and then try to get everybody to visit her on their appointed days if they have them. That way she won't be too frazzled with the move.

One thing, before reading anything else, I would have to mention that solitary confinement is a war crime. It can be so severe on a human that They want to die at the thought of going back into solitary confinement . A person is not relaxing reading a book know they will get out or not knowing . The thought of " nothing" every day and the next day will break the bravest soldier or the toughest prisoner. There is also the possibility that the abuse is rapid as it being revealed in the news each day. How many elderly people died of " natural causes" ? I recently was told by a coroner that it meant NOT murdered, NOT accidental, NOT disease , I think. "Disease" is up for grabs . This world is not like on TV. It is easy for a person used to death to not care or the people who will say " they were old anyway" . I am sure someone has already said what I typed. "Boredom is what kills most old people . "

My mom went into memory care in January. It has been awful not being able to see her since March 30. If Ihad the option at this point, I would wait until you can be with her when she makes the transition. My mom feels so deserted. She doesn’t understand why we’re not there. Her condition has gotten worse because she’s in her room 24/7 all by herself. It’s bad enough being quarantined to your house but could you imagine being in 1 room? If I were you I would wait!!
