Contact your local senior centers in Port Huron and surrounding communities, large or small.

This is how I found a really great lawn service, which not only mows but does tree cutting, demo work, and other exterior services.

Don't be discouraged if you don't get any help from some of the centers. Some just plan expensive trips most seniors can't afford. Others are more realistic and helpful and have lists of companies which have expressed an interest in helping seniors.

To make good price comparisons, call a few regular commercial lawn companies. But it is late in the season to get started, so some may already be booked up and not taking any additional customers.

And be aware that some of the bigger commercial companies may try to sell you a package of services that includes fertilizing and other services you don't need. They claim they're selling "packages" which benefit you. Other than cutting the grass, some of these services are a waste of money.

Good luck.
