All the facilities I have contacted require "up front" payment in cash before accepting my partner into their facility when I need to have a break. Why is it that the insurance companies don't pay for respite care? They are killing off the caregivers.

Sorry, I don't want to be rude here but this question has been asked 3x now. Once in Oct, then Nov and now Dec. And, you have had answers. It looks like u responded to Oct but not Nov. Not sure how else we can help.

How about using your credit card to take a cash advance? Or using the checks that CC send from time to time to pay the facility?

Is hospice an option?

Are you able to use a Miller Trust to reduce wife's income? Are you working with an eldercare attorney on Medicaid eligibility?
