Amlactin is good for very dry skin (I'm thinking of my crepey elbows). It's a little pricey, but a little goes a long way.

I wouldn't use baby oil--it is great for taking off mascara and price tags on things, but as a lubricant--nah, not so great. Also, makes the skin very slippery and if you LO is bathing, she could be as slippery as a baby. Very hard to manage.

My facial moisturizer has Hyaluronic acid in it and seems to work really well. Soaks into the skin.

We all end up with crepe paper like skin as we age it as we age. Our skin looses elastin. Found this info:

"Look for moisturizers that contain lubricating and plumping ingredients like alpha or beta hydroxy acids (like salicylic acid, lactic acid or glycolic acid) ― or one that has a high concentration of the newest and best ingredient for building up dry, crepey skin: hyaluronic acid."

Skin thins out as we age too. At 72 I see it already. This wil, cause skin tears that there is nothing you can do about. When it happened to my Mom my daughter used peri strips to help bring the two sides of the skin together. The nursing home also put gloves on Moms hands because she kept bumping tables and getting tears.

My dermatologist recommends CeraVe Moisture formula. It's available at Walmart, Walgreen's, etc. It's about $15-17.00 a jar. Lasts awhile and very effective.
