Is it normal for someone on hospice to go from hardly eating for weeks to all of a sudden eating 3 meals a day?

There have been instances when terminally ill patients will "perk up" in the last couple of days, sort of like a "second wind", before passing away.

Families have reported near comatose patients awakening and talking with them, then passing the next day.

I'm not saying that is your loved one's fate but it has happened.

Happy to hear their appetite is back.

On hospice there is no such thing as normal. You will see ups and downs even on a daily basis.
