Find Care & Housing
Hospice is not skilled nursing care. If done at home, the family has the brunt of the work. Once evaluated and admitted the Nurse may come 3x a week. An aide just about as much. Someone has to be there 24/7. Medicare pays for it. If she needs LTC, u may want Medicaid. This all depends on her income.

Your profile says mom is living at home. Is that her home and by herself?

Hospice services, are paid for by Medicare 100%. But this is not for housing. Or is mom in a facility?

Is mom on Medicaid? Has her doc said she is within six months of dying?

When was the last time you saw her?

Have you spoken with a hospice provider to understand exactly what they provide?

That would be my 1st step, then I would speak to different ones to find the one that meets my needs best.

Some hospice providers have hospice facilities, but they are not usually covered by Medicare and they are very expensive.

I think that religious based hospice care offers different benefits, so I would be sure and speak in depth with all of them.

I am sorry that you are facing losing your mom. May God grant you the perfect hospice provider quickly.

Hospice is a paid benefit via Medicare. It is not full time care.
