Call the insurance company and ask them. There is usually a customer service number on the back of the insurance card.

That's what we did and they said to ask the primary doc. The office didn't know. Guess we'll have to go back and ask someone higher up in our insurance co... Thanks so much.

In our case, the doctor has to have reason to suspect that the thyroid isn't working properly before the insurance company will pay for a test. Ask your doc why he wants the test done.
