Since the pandemic my husband is being treated like an invalid in the nursing home bedridden only because of isolation by the NH. I want to bring him home and he will need assistance getting to the bathroom. I can’t do it. I think maybe someone will need to be here 8 hrs per day. Or how much trouble to get a live in person?

Beckymcd, I think your fastest, most reliable option in the short term is to call an agency. Many have daily or weekly minimums for how many hours they require, but it can be worth it. Please don't make a live-in arrangement...it is fraught with problems that could cause a lot of stress. Hiring someone privately may make you an employer in the eyes of your state, requiring a legal contract, paying taxes, etc. Also, if the live-in doesn't work out you may have trouble forcing the to move out and may need to go to court for eviction. Please read other accounts on this forum of their experiences. If I were in your shoes, I'd call an agency to start. But then you will need to make sure that in-home rehab is covered by your insurance. Other issues will be if there are stairs he can't climb, or bathroom access, etc. Maybe talk to the rehab facility's social worker for some insight. I wish you luck in helping him recover!
