Is the process for getting on medicaid the same for in home care?

Find Care & Housing
I think this varies by state. As far as I know there is just one application process. It is more complicated for couples than for an individual but I think it is same for in-home as for facility care. I applied for my husband thinking care-center placement was imminent. As it turned out he was able to remain at home the entire 10 years of his dementia journey.

Medicaid covered all of his medications, with no co-pays. It covered the cost of a day care program several days a week. When he could no longer handle that it covered the cost of an in-home PCA for 32 hours a week. It paid for housecleaning for rooms he used (not for my office, for example).

Exact benefits are up to each state.
