I want to take a job that's would be 430p-3am 4 nights a week, I think my mom would be fine from 430 -10. I would have her diet pepsi and chips etc for her. She's able to go to the bathroom by herself but sometimes she doesn't always make it. My question is is there home care for like a hour at night to put her to bed and make sure she has a new depend on or would it be better to see if I could find a family friend that may want to make a few bucks to do it? I was going to get life alert and I already put up a few cameras to keep an eye on mom ,

Find Care & Housing
Some agencies will provide someone to come in for an hour. Others want a two hour(or longer) minimum. Call the agencies in your area to find out. The problem with having a friend do it is, what if they become ill? It is a good option, but be sure you have a back-up person if this should happen. Otherwise you would have to take time off from your new job. The cameras are also a great tool to help you monitor what is happening while you're away, as is the Life Alert.

How has the stoke affected her? You don’t mention dementia so she might be fine. But if you need to be there to live with her, how can you be gone? Do you sometimes leave her while you go food shopping etc?
Would she be afraid?
I don’t think you’ll find a health care service that will only work one hour. But you can ask. Maybe a neighbor or friend.
Does your mom have a bedside commode? Does she wear depends?
would she be willing to forgo the chips and Diet Pepsi and maybe have some apple slices and cheese or a segmented orange or maybe some diet jello with fruit?
That could be her part of the job. To stay in or near the bed and not rush to a bathroom. And have something that is easier on her kidneys and a backup plan, like the Depends in case she doesn’t make it.
Medicare will pay for a bedside commode. You can sometimes find them at resale shops. Let us know what you work out.
