All this BS connected with Covid has removed my only form of stress release, shooting pool with my old teammates for a few hours on Saturdays. The storm that just came thru town on 8/10 left us w/o power for 6 days and that had Mom's Dementia powered up like a nuclear reactor. She slept thru the initial storm and tornado; luckily it wasn't too close to home and I got stuck taking shelter in a tire shop's oil change pit. I was half way to the doc's to get tested for Covid, perfect timing for me yet again. My buddy called me and told me he & his daughter were tested pos for it just 30 min before the storm came thru and that's why I wasn't home. When I got home about an hour after the storm cleared and navigated thru streets riddled with downed trees, she was hungry. She didn't want to wear a mask but I told her she had too because I might be contagious. An argument ensued and I just went outside and upstairs. After a solid 30 min of her pounding on the walls I came down to warm up something to eat. "I want McD's!" but I told her they were closed; everything was closed due to the storm. She didn't believe me. I had her come out on the porch and see all the downed tress. "When did That happen?" and I said it happened nearly 2 hours ago. Another fight because she didn't believe me. The entire town was powerless for 3 days, then a few far west burger joints and gas stations opened about 25 min away. So a round trip for gas OR food took over an hour; all the while she's sitting by candle light asking our neighbors to check the circuit breakers because there's no phone to call me on. She wanted to go but didn't want to wear a mask........you see where this is going? Yep, for 3 days straight around the clock, she was like that. NO SLEEP FOR ME! I finally got 4 hours Friday morning from 2a-6a and then she was at it again. Then at the hospital Sat for 2+ hours it was the same about the masks. While we were there is when the power came back on but no food; lost all of it. She kept me up til 3a this morning; 8/18; but I had to stay up all day again to take the call from the hospital with the results that came at 5:30p. Lost 6 days of pay so far; I don't have paid time off since I have FMLA; which included Mon. Granted I told my boss I was clear & I'd be in today but; guess what; another sh*t storm as usual. My lawyer had a heart attack late Sat night and his partner called me at 8:30a today and said it was urgent for me to come in to try to get him up to speed on everything we talked about, set new court dates; OH my boss might fire me due to his frustration with My life; and to do More Guardianship paperwork. My Mom's nurse also called while I was talking with the new lawyer; which she's supposed to be here by 6a: saying she's not going to be in all week til she gets Her results since her coworker tested pos for Covid. BTW, Mom's too mobile for a nursing home but is way to bullheaded to listen to anyone other than her Dr (*when we're there) or Me after 45 min of arguing. She also lost most of her savings; over $50K; to check scammers; so an ALF is also off the table.

Who do I call to shoot me? I wanna go out on my own terms not due to stress of worrying if I'm gonna lose my job or by Mom stressing me into a heart attack.

Is this a special bad day, or are most days at this point pretty bad. Because quite honestly how can this go on without killing you? I think that you should with all kindness and compassion understand you have done all you can, and it is time to have placement for Mom. That she has lost funds does mean her place won't be luxury digs like your place, but the fact is that this isn't going to work for you for much longer without making you truly ill. You don't tell us how old Mom is, but she might have another decade of life, and it won't get better. Were she to have no children then she would have the guardianship of the state and be placed. It may come to that; I sure don't see another answer.
