I'm helping a friend in The VA nursing home. He wants to pay me monthly to handle his business affairs/ companionship. Do I report income?

We have been friends for 50 years. He wants to pay me for these services. My question is: Can I report this as income on my taxes as a Caregiver.
Turn in a schedule SE pay social security and get credits each year I do this?

Really, this is a question for a CPA. You may need to have an agreement drawn up to protect you and him.
