47 year old disabled female looking for caregivers in the Portland South Portland in Westbrook Maine areas. Looking for someone punctual, someone stable and eager to work and will take the job seriously part-time and full-time available. You will be paid by a separate company as soon as all your paperwork clears you must clear all your paperwork to be eligible and you must pass a background check and I will not be able to pay anybody private-pay.

Find Care & Housing
Mary47, please note if your hire a caregiver who is not from a licensed Agency, then you would need to contact your homeowner insurance carrier so you can purchase "workman's comp" insurance which would be required if the caregiver should get hurt on the job.

To say nothing of a visit to a CPA and attorney to set yourself up as an employer so that taxes, etc are deducted.

If the person is to be paid through a separate company, why can't you just go through a local agency to get one of their already approved and trained caregivers? In our experience agencies have set rates of pay, depending on how many hours the worker comes (e.g., it costs more per hour for a 2 hour shift than a 4 hour shift). If the 'separate company" the person will be paid by is just a payroll company, then of course you are free to set tour own rate of pay. However, if what you are offering isn't competitive with what a caregiver can make with an agency, you're not likely to find anyone. Best of luck!
