Got a jury summons today, and I go so often to see my husband in Assisted Living, and there is no one else to go, I want to be excused from jury duty. I still consider myself a primary caretaker, but I've got to swear to it.

You are the caregiver, you are also the primary care manager.
I would not have a problem indicating on the summons that I was primary caregiver.
There are other questions that you must answer that might also relieve you of jury duty. Age often is an indictor.

I had to have a letter from Mom's PCP saying I was her Caregiver.

How old are you? If 75 or older, in my State you do not have to serve. What I would do is call the Jury office and tell them your his primary caregiver and see if you need a letter from the PCP. They may just let u go.

They have u fill out the form on a website now. If so, u may need to request a form if that would be better for u. If over 75 there should be an area where u can check that off.

If you feel you can’t leave hubs, just say you are the primary take taker.
