My mother is very unhappy at the current facility she is in after a few very difficult experiences with a number of male patients. She is reasonable person of sound mind. She is in need of rehabilitation for general strengthening after becoming extremely deconditioned secondary to a run of health issues infections and such.... She is willing to go to another facility yet the turmoil of getting her in this one with the need to wait until she was hospital level of care and needed admission so she would qualify for the stay at rehab...... Any suggestions?

Find Care & Housing
Ask to see the social worker and the PT person. If she is not making progress, another facility will not want to take her and she will transition to long term care. Sometimes the patient needs some anti-depressants or anti-anxiety meds so they can make progress. Infection can really muddle their thinking for a while.
