I stay with an elderly lady she’s in her 80s but her daughter is her overseer. She has hired me to help out when she needs to go somewhere. She says it’s only six months out of the year. I just wanted to know if it’s true. She received a check two months ago, only one since last Sept she says. IDK if it’s true or what. I still take care of the elderly mom, I love her to death I was just curious.

Sherrylr, when it comes to Medicaid, each State handles their own Medicaid program they way it works best for them. It would be best to contact your State Medicaid office and have them give you information on the waiver program.

My clients who have Medicaid waivers never have complaints about their payments being late. I have therapy clients that are on Medicaid. I turn in my billing on Fridays. I get payments within 10 days. I find it hard to believe that there is 2 - 6 months between payments.

Where does she get a check from? Medicaid? Are u not getting paid? Thats not your problem. She has hired u to care for the lady, you are to be paid. You have to be paid for your work in a timely manner. Like her, you have bills to pay. What was ur agreement? Me, I would not be working and waiting 6 months to be paid.

You’ll have to provide more information. What exactly is the voucher and where does it come from? What is it for?

Are you being paid to care for and drive this lady places?
Is that what the vouchers are for?

If you are not being paid properly, her daughter, the overseer would need to pay you privately.

Is that your question?
