Contact the local social services office where your mother lives. You don’t live in the same state as the parent you are wanting to get paid for which is going to be an issue and the state won’t just pay any child nor will they approve every elder for the program. Your mother has to meet medical and financial requirements. And again as I said before, you aren’t going to be paid to be her full time nurse. The state won’t pay you for that. You’ll be paid minimum wage to provide non-medical care for a few hours a week.
Well who told you that you could paid for this? You would first contact your mother and arrange to have a caregiver contract drawn up so that she can pay you herself. Otherwise IF she can not afford to pay you and is low income and meets the financial and medical requirements and if you meet certain requirements than you can be paid to provide non-medical hands on care but I am sorry to say it’s highly unlikely you’ll be paid to work more than 20-30hrs a week at minimum wage with no PTO or benefits. And your profile says you travel to NJ to take care of your mother so that may hinder your eligibility to be paid by the state as you are not a resident of NJ. The reality here is, most family caregivers don’t get paid unless their family member can afford to pay them.
