I have two hospital beds (long story) that I need to get out of my mom's place in Delaware County, PA pretty quickly. They're both fairly new. One has a mattress that has only been used a few times. The other one has a bariatric mattress pad that was used for about a month.

Any current suggestions on how to get these to someone who needs them?

Try you local American Red Cross chapter. They use hospital beds in shelters, including the bariatric types, and rely on donations.

I live in NJ not far from Delaware County. We have an organization called the Ruritans. They have loan closets and may take your beds. Call NHs in the area, ask if they are interested. I worked for a loan closet and NHs took our xtra commodes and walkers when we ran out of room. Call local Firehouses.

I donated to the VA.

Check local Senior Centers that might have a lending closet or may have people that they know can use a hospital bed.
It is likely that they will not take a used mattress.
Facebook has a market place or garage sale section you could post there.
If you do not find anyone that will take them a local “scrapper” will take the bed and recycle it.
Salvation Army may also pick up. Again they probably will not take the mattress.
