You are having symptoms of a heart attack. Please call EMT via 911 and go to ER to get checked at once. Anesthesia can often effect someone's mind. Sometimes this clears up with time, but sometimes it doesn't. It isn't a matter of "too much anesthesia"; it just can happen normally even with the right amount. Anesthesia can definitely have a negative effect on ones brain, especially someone that already has any kind of mental decline. In most cases it does improve over time, but not in all. Sadly most Dr's do not share that with their patients or patients families prior to doing surgery. Hopefully your husband will improve some over time.
