I put two depends on my husband at night and everything still gets wet. What are others doing?

If he take meds later in the day, maybe it's something to do with night time meds? Maybe one of them has diuretic properties?

In my experience with my mom depends were the least effective brand for overnight, there are many better options available. Adding a booster pad (which doesn't have a waterproof back) would be one option, bit since you will likely need to buy those from an online supplier you might as well try sending for something more absorbent- Abena, attends.. sorry, I'm on my phone so I can't search brands for you. Do you limit his liquid at night (within maybe 3 or 4 hours of bedtime)?

Does he use the bathroom during the day? If so, can an alarm be set during the night to get him up to potty? My daughter worked at an AL facility and they had to get some people up for a bathroom run every couple of hours. Of course that is a lot of work and/or exhausting but so is changing EVERYTHING in the middle of the night or every morning. Sometimes there are no great solutions but hopefully an improvement can be found.

Some people have a commode in the bedroom if making it to the bathroom is too much of an issue.

Someone I knew on hospice used a portable urinal.

Not sure how they work yet, but just bought booster pads from NorthShore made to go in incontinence products.

Never understood the two depends. They have plastic on the outside so how does it get to the second Depends?

My mom goes to the bathroom so much. Still using pads. But I just got a bedside commode. Is he able to use one of those? Or is it best to be in depends?
