The attorney I used cause mom was comfortable with him, he never answers directly. I have been passing out from completely unconscious and my mother treats it like nothing. I don't want her in trouble when she acts very uncaring and don't seem to mind if I get sick as long as I'm with her. Is that against the law? thank you

It is not reasonable to expect your mother, who is living with you BECAUSE she needs full-time care, to understand your needs. She is not capable of minding. You need to stop expecting her to be the same woman she was before she got old and ill.

Your mother requires full-time care. If you are too ill to provide that, then she needs care from somebody else. This isn't a question of whether you love her or not, it's just practical common sense. If you are ill - if you were dead, come to that - you can't give her the care she needs; so, she needs help from other sources.

I'm sorry you're finding the lawyer unhelpful, or at least not much use when it comes to answering your questions. What did the doctor say?

Sorry - you ask, is it against the law.

It isn't against the law to expect you to soldier on regardless.

But it may well be when it comes to your mother's welfare. If she has proven care needs and they are not being met, through no fault of yours, then there will be a duty on the part of your local social services to assist her. Is the lawyer working on any of that, do you know?

Is Mom living with you or you with her? In another post you said Mom was not found to have Dementia. You do say she has depression. Can she care for herself? How do you support yourself?

It seems like how Mom is treating you is really getting to you. If possible, maybe it's time for one of u to leave. At 68, Mom could get a senior apartment based on her income. If that is not possible, then it's time for boundaries. Expect respect. Without you where would she be. Just because she is your Mom you don't have to deal with put downs. Walk away. Nothing much you can do about her not showing you some concern. Depression is a self centered thing. It's all about them. They don't see how they effect others. May be something you just have to live with. You can always come back and sound off with us.
