My Mom is 90 years old. Just suffered a stroke on her right side. She is now wheelchair bound, blind and hands are paralyzed. She still lives at her apartment and my sister and I take turns staying with her. I travel 300 miles 1-2 times a month for 7-12 days each time. We need a voice activated phone that is reliable for her to make calls. I have already called the foundation for the Blind.....they just suggested books for the blind. Please, please help. I know there has to be something she can use.

Find Care & Housing
Try your state Dept for the blind. Ask if there is anything that Mom can get for free or low-cost to them. This goes for people who are hard of hearing, check with the Dept for the deaf.

Many smart phones can be used via voice. She doesn't even need to have the phone on her. She can use a bluetooth headset or the phone can be left on standby and used much like a Echo. Speaking of which, an Echo dot can also make phone calls with voice control.

Telephony in the modern world doesn't need to be a dedicated device. There's an app for that. ;)
