It is my understanding that there are special home surveillance device that are specifically designed to monitor the activity of a person with memory loss while the primary caregiver is away from the home.
Apparently there are different types of systems with a wireless camera that can include the view of one room or multiple cameras for every room in the house. Apparently the in home wireless camera(s) are connected to an app on a cell phone so while away from the home the caregiver can open the app on his/her cell phone and see exactly what is going on with the loved one back at the house.
Anyone have any experience with any type of device like this...if so can you give me a recommendation.
Also interested in learning about programmable medicine dispensers.
The type that will hold several different medications and will notify a family member if the person has not taken their medication. It is also important that the dispenser be programmed to distribute several different types of medications at different intervals of time throughout the day. Any recommendations on that would be helpful as well.

The pills are put in individual cups wit lids. They are set up in carousel fashion. Timer is set for times to take pills. A voice says "time to take ur pills". A button is pushed and down come the pills. I voice will play 3x. If button not pushed, a contact will be called so they know the medication has not been taken. This dispenser can be locked so the senior cannot play with their pills.
Anyone who needs that level of remote oversight isn't safe to live alone or even stay by themselves for more than very brief periods of time. You can't watch the cameras 24/7, you can't stop risky behaviour from a distance and even though you can get programmable pill dispensers you can't ensure that the medication is actually taken.
