Call your local council on aging group and ask for some direction in how to get transit to appointments. I suggest you also check all local resources you can think of such as Church and Community groups.
Can you be a little more specific Stewie, what are your barriers? By pubic transit do you mean bus/subway, or are you including paratransit? Is taxi/uber a possibility or do you need wheelchair accessibility?
