I live in N.Y State. If I get a nanny cam do I have to make this agency aware I have one?

Very sorry.  First make a written list of task, like clean bathroom.  If it is a bathroom you use, this is a fair request.  Take out trash, wipe down kitchen counters.   IME, the aids do not do heavy cleaning, but they are responsible for leaving house in the condition it was in before they got there.   Then send list to agency, tell them if they if have problem with it to let you know, then leave it for aid.

You want to put up a camera in your home for your care? If it’s legal and that makes you feel comfortable then do it. Yes, tell them about the camera if that is what the agency is telling you to do.

Can you look up the laws concerning cameras in your area? In our area we are allowed to use cameras in nursing homes. There are stipulations. The camera cannot invade the privacy of a roommate. Audio recording is not illegal in our state. We can record without consent from the other party.
