There are also phones that have extra large numbers for ease of calling and caller ID displays that tilt upward for ease of seeing who's calling and from what number. AT&T and I belive V-tech also have models with an audio assist function for a little boost in volume above the regular volume control.

oralia, depending on the age of the house there should be telephone land line outlets on the walls in various rooms. Target sells landline telephones. I would recommend the stationary phone that has a telephone cord on the receiver instead of the cordless phones that sit in a caddy.... I found my Dad would forget to place the phone back into the caddy and after a couple of days the phone would be dead.
