deduction for the expense involved with this?

This question has been closed for answers. Ask a New Question.
Yes, some of his care is deductible as a medical expense on your tax return. I'd suggest using google and it's links, to find more info on what is and is not deductible.

And your tax preparer might have more detailed guidelines as what is and is not deductible also.

Ask your tax preparer if you can deduct the care and do you need a doctor to write a prescription for it to be deductible.

Only someone that knows your specific situation can answer this for you.

If the agency is paying the caregiver for time then the agency is in charge of the taxes. When you file your taxes ask the tax preparer about healthcare deductions. This should be deducted under healthcare. Keep all the receipts and invoices for medical care. hugs

Speak directly with the agency involved to find out who is giving out the tax information for these caregivers; almost certainly they are doing it themselves.
