If IHSS is paying for the care I would think they have a criteria. That maybe the aide needs to be certified by the state. (CNA) That they have a list of agencies that will except payment from them. Not all agencies work with these type of programs because they do not pay what someone would privately. Not sure how IHSS works when u hire someone privately. Is IHSS responsible for deduction of taxes because the IRS does not consider care aides self-employed.
