Oh you brought back memories. I had to limit my visits to two times a week. Each time, the subject of where she was going to move would come up. I would answer all her questions, but she forgot them immediately. When she would ask the same question three times, it was time to leave. Her dementia would fade in and out, but at the end she lived in her own world. It is very hard to walk away, but you have to set boundaries.

I know exactly how you feel and am still struggling for solutions. I will be checking here anxiously myself, reading the replies looking for help. The only thing I have come up with myself is to carefully prepare list of things to talk about prior to my 3x a week visits. But as hard as I try to stay clear of hot button topics she always finds a way to get back to a subject that involves how I've wronged her - (sigh).
