You realize that he could become violent. When this happens you m not be able to keep him home. There is probably no way to explain to him that what he says hurts or why you need to leave. Does he have a friend that may come and sit with him? Someone from the Church? You may just need to hire a babysitter but I would make it another man. Someone he can relate to.

I know your pain, my mom was the sweetest kindest nicest person I've ever known .she was a nurse for 54 years and she taught my sister and I how to take care of patients and we both became nurses ...my sister had a heart attack and died suddenly 5 years ago now I'm alone with mom and dad they don't live together but dad has colon cancer ..anyway these past few months mom is so abusive and mean won't get out of bed when I have to get to work she fights with me calls me vile names it's makes me cry at night ..I have worry and anxiety and it's hard to see someone you love decline and my heart breaks . I'm also ill with Psoratic arthritis which is attacking my tendons and organs ..so I have to go to dr appointment whether I'm called names or sometimes she hits me ...just a slap ..but I have a care giver come and watch her ...she won't get changed in the am and I can't force her .....I just wait for a moment that she's agreeing to it ....my idea for you is to get a caregiver to sit with him ... I'm sorry your going through this im 55 and cry like a baby at night because I miss my sister and she was my helper and I see mom declining and turning mean and nasty ... I have no family to help .. after my sister died I had lots of help ..everyone is gone on with their lives ...God Bless you
