She has had 4 strokes already.

This happened with one of my relatives, and people would constantly tell her "No, they are not here!" and try to talk him out of it. But if they are sure, then it only creates distress (and even anger) if you try to tell them it's not happening. Also, consider this: It may actually be of some comfort to her, that is if it is someone she liked or knew. If it's strangers, that would be another thing. One of my aunts "saw" many people from her past---partially due to stroke it was assumed, and partially (I believe) because it made her comfortable to "imagine" the past. Since it didn't create any other problems, and she was comfortable with it, we tried to be too, and she remained fairly content until the end. Best of luck to you, and like previously suggested, get the doctor in on this, and if possible get a SECOND opinion too. Get all the ideas you can and then find out what works for her/you.

First of all I would encourage you not to argue with her... If she hears voices she hears them! I would encourage you to just listen and nod. Talk with her Dr and ask his best advice...
