I am 75, blind. I receive VA Benefits - A&A. Will my caregiver be paid by me, or can they get paid directly from the VA? Will their pay be deducted from my benefits?
Probably best to contact the VA directly so you can get current correct information. they may need to review your case to make sure your benefits are up to date.
Please get the information you seek directly from your VA office so that there is no confusion for you. And/ or please have a case manager assigned to you or whoever is your legal, medical POA, assist you as needed to get correct guidance on this and other you may have.

I agree, the money you are getting is to help you pay for caregivers. It can also be used to offset the cost of an Assisted living. But cannot be used in conjunction with Medicaid.
You have to pay the caregiver directly. The A&A is for the purpose of helping to pay for care you need. VA will not pay the caregiver directly nor pay any additional amount above your A&A payment.
