Probably best to contact the VA directly so you can get current correct information. they may need to review your case to make sure your benefits are up to date.

Please get the information you seek directly from your VA office so that there is no confusion for you. And/ or please have a case manager assigned to you or whoever is your legal, medical POA, assist you as needed to get correct guidance on this and other you may have.

If at any point you think that you need legal advice please contact an Elder Law attorney.

No information about when you lost your vision but may be worth contacting VA.
Ask if you can receive more A&A since becoming blind.

The money is for you to pay the caregiver. They don’t pay it.

I agree, the money you are getting is to help you pay for caregivers. It can also be used to offset the cost of an Assisted living. But cannot be used in conjunction with Medicaid.

You have to pay the caregiver directly. The A&A is for the purpose of helping to pay for care you need. VA will not pay the caregiver directly nor pay any additional amount above your A&A payment.
