that can help me assess the best approach to care for my 90 year old mother. Her main care taker, my father passed away suddenly on 11/20 while my Mom was in a nursing home recovering from a broken hip. I hopeful that I can find a nurse to help me with assessment of the next steps. I do not live in the area my Mom does and I need to return to my family in another state. She is getting home health support through her health insurance and I I have been working with the local Department of Aging. Neither have been provided much support to help me find help for her or determine the best plan forward and I would like and assessment from a professional that I am more than happy to pay) to help me assess the best forward approach.

Find Care & Housing
I think they will give you options but won't make decisions for you. If you are her PoA YOU are the researcher and decision-maker. BarbBrooklyn suggested a Geriatric Care Manager and I agree this seems to be what you're seeking. But please, the cost for your mom's care needs to come from her resources, not yours. Eventually the cost of her care will be unsustainable, and will rob you and your family of your own future care options.
