Start with your local office on aging...some are better than others in helping you find services, etc.
Next, find out which apt. complexes in your area are gov. subsidized. My Mom had a great apt., at one time, that charged much less than the going rate.
If she qualifies (age, income, disability, etc.) she would be entitled to other services as well (food stamps, reduction in utilities, meals on wheels, etc.)
