porgypie, on the right side of this page is block that says "Find Care & Housing". Type in the zip code for the area that you want, and see what facility names pop up.

And as MACinCT had mentioned in her post, you will need to call around to see what facilities have an empty bed, or if you can be placed on a waiting list.

If the love one is on Medicaid [which is different than Medicare] the first thing you need to ask is if the facility accepts Medicaid, or if you need to self-pay for awhile then switch to Medicaid paying.

We hired an Aging Life Specialist and she was a great help in finding nursing homes. Check out aginglifecare.org

Also, if she/he gets into one nursing home and you (or she/he) aren't happy, visit other homes and get on waiting lists.
