I am in dire need of someone who could/would come to my condo, 3-4 times per week, for 2 hours at a time so I can safely take my showers and not fall when I get out of the shower.

I have Multiple Sclerosis and my balance is off.

Please, I am urgently requesting some assistance in this matter.

Please advise.

Your expeditious response will be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you.
Faith

I suggest you call your County Office of Aging and see if they can help.

Look on line for over the tub shower chairs/benches. Two legs of the chair are in the tub, two out. The seat is on the outside and it slides into the tub. There are also over the tub side bars that you can hold onto while trying to get in the shower. There temporary bars too.

You may want to put a commode over your toilet using a splash guard instead of a bucket. The arms will give you stability when u stand.

There was a member that she was able to get help for her Mom and Aunt thru Medicare. I think its called "Intermintant" care? See if your doctor can prescribe this for you. Office of Aging can also evaluate your condo to see what equipment and upgrades you need. Maybe help u get some thru Medicare.

Faith,

You could realistically cut back those hours to a 1-2 times a week where they have to come help you bathe. However, most agencies and really most indies want more than four total hours of pay.

This is a site for caregivers, not an employment or service provider site. Contact your local Area Agency on Aging for service providers in your area.
