Davy, the vast majority of family caregivers taking care of a love one do not get paid... unless the love one can pay from their own retirement savings.
Medicaid might be an option if your State has a paid caregiver program, but note the pay could be quite minimal as Medicaid is funded by the taxpayers.
I am not sure what resources are available in the community. I would check with Medicare or Medicaid and see if this option exist. Another option is talk to a social worker about all your options.
