crimlily, if you are talking about hugging close to the center line on the road, it could be your husband's eyes.

We noticed my Dad was hugging the right side of the road when he was driving getting way too close to the curb. Didn't think too much about it until he damaged the right front tire of the car on two separate occasions, within weeks of each other. Turned out he had macular degeneration in his left eye.

Now to be crude, but is he slender and if so does he have very little padding on his hips? Even with padded comfortable seats in cars (don't know about golf carts), very thin people can be uncomfortable.

Or, has he had a stroke? Is he cold and needs to comfort of something to block any air?

CWillie also has a good suggestion; perhaps it's time for an eye exam.

If this is new behavior it could have something to do with his eyesight. If one eye has become blurry or developed a blind spot he could be unconsciously trying to compensate. This is something to check out ASAP, as vision changes can have many causes, sometimes in the eye itself and sometimes relating to changes in the brain.
