My husband has dementia. One of his delusions is putting something invisible together. What can I do?

My FIL liked to fidget with things in his dementia, and we fixed him up a plastic tub with things like snap together beads, those wire balls that expand and contract, large nuts and bolts, wooden beads and strings, a harmonica. He had a keyboard with songs in the memory. Most of these things were intended for children, but he was not the kind to be offended. MIL, on the other hand, won't do anything she thinks is "childish".

I tell you this because he may be persuaded to tinker with actual items if he has them. There is also a wooden box available that has several doors with latches. When you open them, there is a compartment that you could put stuff in. Check out 'best-alzheimers-productsdotcom'. Lincoln logs or large Lego blocks might be good too.

Oh, I hope so too. We got some good things at educational stores, ToysRUs was another good source. I've never bought from that website I mentioned above, but I have been looking at some of their things for Mom. I'm not sure what that invisible stuff is all about, but maybe this will work out ok.
