Find Care & Housing
Unless you have power of attorney, it will be difficult to do. The paperwork to admit to nursing facility is done by either patient or their power of attorney and would have included financial information on any home ownership or liens on it. You don't say who "she" is - assume it's husband's spouse - assume it may be stepmother since you say "she". If father was admitted on Medicaid, there is already a lien in place on the home for any future Medicaid bills which makes it difficult to get a reverse mortgage. If you are the power of attorney, you can check the county records and see if a reverse mortgage lien has been filed on the property. Why are you asking? Is the nursing home asking for information or are you checking on assets that are owned by your father?
