My MIL was like that. You are looking at vascular dementia. We stopped rushing over there and told her to call 911. She won't call them. The diagnosis on her chart was Somatoform Disorder and Delusional.

To help you with your question we need more information. What is the medical issue of your parent? What types of emotional games are they playing with you? Are you a full-time caregiver, part-time, or logistical? Does the parent live by themself... you with the parent.... the parent living with you or another relative? Are you employed? Are there caregivers who come in? What is the age of the parent?
