My partner of 37 years was put into a "care center" one hundred miles south of here two months ago. I filled out 55 pages of documents to be his "representative". I participated in group care calls and responses. I visited him twice a week for two weeks at great expense. During the last visit four women surrounded me, took me to the front office, told me I can never visit him again, and wanted to shove me out the front door. They said there is an Adult Protective Services report that I do not know about, and there has never been an investigation. I was with him at the local hospital every day after I asked for an ambulance to take him there. He fell in the bathroom and had a strained thigh. I took care of him until the leg had alot of painless motion. The apartment manager here asked for a welfare check instead of the ambulance without my knowledge. The police were a surprise, and the larger bodied male one was saying strange false and accusatory things. I said, "I see you have your judgements". He told me to talk with the smaller male police person in the hallway. I did that - calmly stating the situation. Things people have said to me make it clear that the proposed APS report is false and inappropriate.
My partner wanted me to visit him. I cannot visit or call for 5 weeks now. I emailed the County Civil Rights Commission person. I did not get an answer.

Does your partner have someone designated as POA, has the state appointed a guardian ad Litem? Maybe look up on the county website to see if someone has filed for guardianship/conservatorship over your partner in probate court. You could contact your local Ombudsman. What state do you reside in? In some states common law is still recognized. Lots of questions regarding your situation.
