For several days now, I have been doing the constant tear off soiled Tena, take off pants, put on new Tena, and put on pants. I have been searching the site everytime I think of something that may help me. What a life saver... putting on Tena without removing pants. So simple and quick. I got the hang of it after the first try!

Grandma, I was told this after I placed Mom in an AL. It took no time for them to potty Mom and I asked why. (I did not watch them do it) The aide then told me. Also, that Depends can be ripped at the sides. Knowing those two things would have been so helpful when I had Mom.

you can not put on a new pull up brief without removing pants.
You can switch to a Tab type brief.
What I am going to explain will sound odd but it worked very well.
When I would get my Husband dressed in the morning I would put on the tab brief.
I would then put on a Boxer Brief. This held the brief in place much better than just the tabs and the pants he was wearing.
When I had to change him I would pull down the pants, the boxer brief and remove the soiled tab brief.
(here is where it gets odd)
I would have him hold onto the counter for support.
I would pass the brief under him BACKWARDS,
I would open the brief up fully and peel one of the tabs and bring it around to the back and attach it to the side of the brief.
I would then pull it as tight as I could. Since I was applying force pulling the tab to the back I was able to get it pretty tight.
I would then pull up the boxer brief
then pull up the pants.
Bonus to doing it this way is that the tabs were at the back and he did not try peeling them off.
At night when I had to change him in bed I did put them on the "normal, proper" way with the tabs attached at the front.
