Grown greedy daughter was given all things if value from her mother's estate. As should b. Widowed dad remarried and the couple pooled finances. Daughter is furious that house would go to wife if predeceased by husband. Not the big value implied and their is a mortgage on property. Daughter does not call, write, or visit. Very randomly she calls. I dial phone for him when he lets me.

I would stay out of a Daddy-Daughter thing. It is between him and her. If you are the second wife, you belong in the Second Wives Club. Often the adult children do not like the second wife, perhaps because she is not their mother. The second wife, however, cannot speak poorly of the children, because they are the man's children. I would chill and leave it alone except to defend yourself against any unfair accusations. If the second wife gets the mortgaged house in the will, then it will stand. The house does not belong to the children.

Is it the house the children grew up in? That might be a big sticking point for the daughter if it is. She will be territorial. If it isn't, she has no dog in the race.

What makes her think this will happen? Is there a Will stating wife gets the house? Here in NY, if there is no Will, the wife gets 2/3 and the children get 1/3. Check the probate laws for his state, don't just assume.
