SS checks deposited into wrong account for over 6 months.  Trying to get funds back into correct account. Nursing home #1 was receiving my mother's SS checks directly deposited to them. We put her in a new nursing home and NH#2 never submitted the paperwork so for 6 months her checks were deposited into NH#1 account. After months of being told that NH#1 was returning check to SS and NH#2 saying they submitted paperwork, found out that they did not submit paperwork. Took 5 months to get NH#1 to request a check from their corporate office (over $6600). NH#2 has not been paid and we owe for about 7 months. Supposedly check was sent to the treasury department but SS office in Indiana said it takes 3 months for them to deposit the money back into my moms account. I am now the representative payee but wondering why it takes so long for the money to be put back in her account. I keep getting calls from NH#2 wanting their money. I now write the check each month and send to NH#2. Help, I am at my wits ends and do not know who to talk to.I am my mother's POA and also her Representative Payee (SS) but I live in Texas and she is in nursing home in Indiana. It has been a mess and NH#2 just fired 3 people in their accounting department.

Sometimes switching nursing homes is like jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. It sounds like the problem is NH#2 had idiots in accounting. Unfortunately, that can be pretty common.
