After a stroke and a pace-maker she was told by the doctors that she could go home for a "short" while. She has no after affects of the stroke. She still takes her medication, thyroid and blood thinners faithfully. She is not social. Her memory is good. Sometimes forgetful. She is 93 yrs old. She walks with the aid of a walker. Lives in a 55+ Apartment now.

Generally, I would broach the subject with her as a means to have independence. that's usually what threatens them as they leave their home. Explain with a little support, they won't be 'dependent' on you and will be free to socialize, do other activities.

FF is right. Use the “add more details” box directly under the “type your question here” box to explain your situation and we will try to help.

Astemecula, is Mom already in Assisted Living or is she living at home but needs to move to Assisted Living? What are Mom medicals needs? How is her memory? More information would help us understand what is your situation.
