How often should Mother be seen, checked on?

Your mother? I'd call her daily, if she's happy using the phone, and other than that try to keep up whatever kind of housekeeping and grocery schedule she was used to managing for herself. N.b., that doesn't all have to be done by you! Hired caregivers, neighbours' (trustworthy) teenagers needing to earn a little extra, anyone both you and your mother are happy to have in the house can be roped in to help out. Draw up a schedule and see how you go. Long may she manage independently!

PS - does she have a pendant alarm for emergencies? That might be something to think about for peace of mind.
