Find Care & Housing
Do you need skilled care or companion care? If you need companion care only, minimum wage in MA is $12 an hour. If you are the employer, you will also need to pay Social Security and Unemployment Insurance for the employees. You should also investigate Worker's Compensation Insurance costs. I assume you will need four or five employees to cover three shifts seven days a week to allow for sick days and days off. I would estimate your costs at about $150,000 a year.

If you need the care of someone more skilled, a certified nurse assistant or practical nurse, I would expect to pay closer to $25 an hour in wages. The best way to get this question answered might be to contact an aging life specialist or a home care service in your area.
